2AM CLUB UPDATE

Album Release!! Checking in from the road.

Lying down in our silver sprinter van, Betty, as we traverse the barren Texas desert. Today's drive from Las Vegas to Ft. Worth Texas has been damn near 20 hours..aaahhh. 2AM Club is currently on tour with Mike Posner, our friend and label mate, as well as Far East Movement, Bad Rabbits, Steven Jerzak, and our brother from another, XV. This tour hits all the House of Blues venues across the states. We started last week in LA, on the day our record dropped, September 14th.



24 years I have been waiting for this moment, and here it is...a major tour, with a major label album circulating through the masses. Now that the music is finally out, it's on us. How much energy can we create, how inspiring can our shows get, how in touch with our fans can we be? We spent so much time focusing on getting our work available, now it must be in demand. These past two months, as radio play has picked up, (worry about you is cracking top 40) and MTV has been giving us more love, you start to notice the songs being sang back. The crowds belting with me, closing there eyes and singing the words as if they were their own. It's the most rewarding thing, I like feeling like I'm leading in a sing along, like our show is something we do with the audience and not just for them. Of course the road has it's downsides, food poison, and stale van air taking the cake at the moment. But really, where else could we be.

The Spader DJ Skee spent 6 months putting together Skeetox which was a concert featuring some of the hottest names in the music scene - Mike Posner, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Ya Boy, Cisco Adler and others. 2AM CLUB US TOUR UPDATE

We all got swine flu. The day before we were to embark on our first real “tour” we go down with the tabloid endorsed hype illness.....never the less, time has begun to heal us and we are on our way. We left Ian (drummer) back at home to attend a doctors appointment on Monday, he will fly and meet us for our show in Minnesota and we will rock acoustic until then. New York is done for now...the lights are dimming behind us and the darkness of the midwest open road will be home for the next few.

We have attached a trailer to the back of the 12 passenger van giving us extra room to sprawl out. Everyone has laptops and ipods at work, I’ve been switching back and fourth between The Blueprint 3 and Donny Hathaway Live....godamn if you want to hear a live album that gives you goosebumps check that record out. We left NYC on a high note, playing a sold out show at SOB’s with Mike Posner and Big Sean. It was a hip hop show primarily, but we rocked it. I think true hip hop fans can always sense where 2AM CLUB comes from, they seem to understand it better then your average rock or pop audience. It’s like the Rock and Pop audience always wonders what the hip hop audience would think of the “soul singing...white boy rap thing,” the hip hop audience just takes the energy in more naturally. Life is good, the road is where we belong, as I write this we are surrounded by Iowa cornfields.....what a trip. Hope life is going well for all my Spaders out there....
