GORAN IVANISEVIC

The tennis is the only thing people are talking about right now with the Australian Open currently happening in Melbourne. We were thinking about some of our favorite tennis moments and we just couldn't go past Goran Ivanisevic's Wimbledon win in 2001 over Aussie Spader Pat Rafter. He come into the tournament as a wild card, nobody predicted him to do well and Goran proved them all wrong! Not only was it an memorable match but it was also a very memorable speech. Make sure you watch it. Spader moment!

JORDAN 10's

It's the year of 10's so it's only right that we start the year off with the Jordan 10's. These were released in 1994-95 despite Jordan's absence from the NBA. The Air Jordan 10 featured a different shape than the previous Jordan shoes did. Apart from these soles the design was no real surprise and was overall very plain. Hatfield (the Jordan shoe designer) picked up a few design elements from previous models and you could see some obvious signs of influence from the Air Jordan 3's, the Air Jordan 5's and the Air Jordan 6's. About every Jordan 10 fan was pulling their hair out by the time that Nike released retro Jordan 10's. May 3, 2005 was the launch date which was about 10 years after they were last sold. The Jordan 10's were the oldest shoes to be retroed older than the Air Jordan 13's.

HOPE FOR HAITI

Once again the international stellar community, broadcasting live from New York, London, Los Angeles and Haiti on MTV, YouTube and most major American networks, proved they could work together at short notice to raise funds for an emergency relief operation.

Viewers across the world Рthis event was aiming for the largest television audience ever Рwere treated to solo performances from Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder and Sting, and Chris Martin of Coldplay accompanying Beyonc̩ on the piano. The R&B superstar's rendition of her song Halo included the altered lyric: "Haiti, we can see your halo/I pray you won't fade away."

Proceeds from the night, thought to amount to hundreds of millions, will be split among the five relief organisations actively operating in Haiti: Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, Unicef and to Jean's own Yéle Haiti foundation. The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, set up by the two most recent former American presidents, will benefit, too. International charity concerts are now a central part of boosting aid funds in the aftermath of a humanitarian disaster.

Powerful personal appeals came from Bill Clinton, Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Morgan Freeman and Leonardo DiCaprio, one of several stars to donate $1m to the cause!!

Spader would like to give our regards to everyone in Haiti and to those who have family effected by the crisis. If you are wanting to donate to Haiti here is the link to Australia's Oxfam's website.
