JAMES O'CONNOR INTERVIEW

James O'connor is one big time Spader, not only is he the future of Australian Rugby as he debuted for the Wallabies at age 18 in 2008 (the second youngest Wallaby ever) he also studies Business Law! With so much talent and enthusiasm on and off the field we got a few minutes with this whiz kid to talk fashion and find out who inspires him.

What did you dream of being when you were a kid?
Always wanted to be a secret agent- was a big Bond fan. But when I turned 8 it changed to playing rugby for my country, which at that time was the All Blacks.

What are you doing now in your life?
Enjoying myself. currently playing with the wallabies and studying business law on the side!

What has been the best advice given to you?
If its going to be then its up to me!!

Where/who do you get your inspiration from?
A lot of my inspiration come from the guys i play against and even more so from who i play with! guys like Quade Cooper, Matt Giteau, Maa Nonu, Corey Jane.

Describe your outfit when you go out?
Lately i've been repping some casual/dressy high top kicks, jeans, print t and a leather jacket.

What item of clothing would you like to see brought back?
Short shorts ;)

Who is a person that has been an inspiration to you?
A lot of inspiring people in my life from parents to coaches! outside that rugby group though Justin Langer has been a great help!

Who is the ultimate Spader to you?
There's a lot of sportsmen and women I admire for setting themselves huge goals and defying the odds and adversities to have achieved them. One in particular is Lance Armstrong, to go through what he did and still be at the top of his game/sport after so long is amazing and a great testament to his character! He also comes across as a great person with such humility.

ELLIE GONSALVES

Ellie Gonsalves is an extremely driven and determined Aussie girl, she is about to make the big move over to the US to pursue her life long goal of being the next Aussie Victoria's Secret Angel alongside names such as Miranda Kerr. We wanted to have a chat to this inspiring Spader before she hits the big time.

What did you dream of being when you were a kid?
When I was younger, I was a total tomboy growing up on acreage in rural Brisbane – I never wore dresses, pink or anything that was girly … Now I am a total girls girl who has a goal to be the next Aussie Victorias Secret Angel. Go figure! But I did always want to be an actress – I always wanted to be a BOND girl and that is still on my goal list for the future.

What are you doing now in your life?
I am an Australian/international model, I have been fortunate enough to have found my dream job from such an early age. After I finish up all of my projects and work lined up here in Aus - I am moving to LA with my amazingly supportive partner Ross Scutts at the end of the year to pursue my lifelong goal of becoming the next Aussie Victorias Secret Angel… To stay updated you can keep informed by reading my blog - http://www.elliegonsalves.blogspot.com/

What has been the best advice given to you to about surviving the modeling industry?
I have been given some great advice in my lifetime – It has been about not one but ALL aspects of my life.. “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can BECOME it.” That quote has ALWAYS stuck with me and with having absolutely no doubt in my mind that I can achieve something, I can and I WILL! I think anyone has the possibility to achieve great things, you just have to believe you can do them.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from EVERYWHERE, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! But I think the majority of this inspiration comes from the people I surround myself with, the people who constantly support me, believe in me and what I want to achieve. No matter where I go, what I do, how successful I am – They will stand by me regardless.

Describe your style to us?
I believe as you get older you have a growing sense of who you are, what style, colors and types of clothing suit your personality and your figure the best. I am a very confident and very out there personality, so I like to wear clothing that best suits those traits… Think lots of bright colors and very WOW outfits.. Alex Perry nails what I look for in style…

Describe your clothing outfit when you go out?
When I go out I love to wear something that makes me HAPPY! When you wear something that you feel really confident in – Your personality really reflects that…

What item of clothing would you like to see brought back?
I have never really thought of something in particular that I have wanted to see brought back – But I do have this amazing jacket that looks like a polar bear, its so warm and looks so beautiful and luxurious! Faux fur of course – That old school glam, it is so beautiful.

Who is a person that has been an inspiration to you?
A major influence in my life has been Aussie beauty and Victorias Secret Angel, Miranda Kerr. Her outlook on life has kept me motivated in my health and fitness and has driven me to succeed in whatever I set my mind to achieving. I am a firm believer in achieving ANYTHING you set your mind to. The people I surround myself have also been a group to very heavily influence me, my friends, family and partner. They have all contributed to making me the person I am today and surround me with a positive environment to go out and make my goals a reality.

Who is the ultimate Spader to you?
We are all our OWN ‘ultimate spader’ in some way. I love to be myself, dress for myself, and someday be someone else’s “ultimate spader”… But I just love MKerrs style, she has such a fresh, girly and unique dress sense… I think it’s great to have someone to look up to that you want to be like and, in some way – follow in their footsteps of success…

MISS CALIFORNIA LATINA

Positive, kind, determined and charismatic are the best words to describe 23 year old Vivian Fabiola Valadez who is the current Miss California Latina. Aside from pageants, Vivian’s true passion is reporting, especially in Spanish media. In the summer of 2009 she worked for KRCA-Channel 62 Los Angeles En Vivo. She soon realized that she would take advantage of being bi literate and gain the necessary experience in Spanish broadcasting so that one day she can reach her goal of working for both English and Spanish language news. We are excited to announce that Miss California Latina, Vivian Fabiola Valadez, will be attending the Spader launch @ Twisted on July 17 at 3pm.

What did you dream of being when you were a kid?
When I was a kid I wanted to be a dolphin trainer, dolphins are my favorite because they are such beautiful animals.

What are you doing now in your life?
I am currently job hunting for a permanent Field Reporter position in news. I currently do freelance Spanish entertainment reporting, interviewing many of the most well-respected and popular Mexican Regional Music Artists. Aside from my passion for writing and reporting, I am working on launching a brand of women’s handbags with my name brand, Fabbyrock.

What has been the best advice given to you to about surviving the entertainment industry?
Those who persevere achieve, and this is true you must continue to strive towards reaching your goals because only those who give it their all will survive in this business.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from my burning flame to succeed. I want to become a much respected successful journalist and women. I get inspired by my desire to one day travel the world, and also to give back to my parents for all they have done for my siblings and I.

Describe your style to us?
I am very unique; I love to wear anything that everyone would NOT wear. I love to be flashy and vibrant. I love accessories and I always make sure my handbag and every other accessory is carefully coordinated with my outfit.

Describe your clothing outfit when you go out?
I always wear dresses or skirts. I like to show my legs because it makes me look a little taller. I also always wear nothing less than 5 inch heels. My favorite colors are black, hot pink and white.

Who is a person that has been an inspiration to you?
My sister has been a great inspiration to me because she has always set examples for me not only on a professional level but also was the person who gave me the courage to be in my very first pageant. She inspires me because with hard work she has worked her way up and now produces the Daily 10 on E!

Who is the ultimate Spader to you?
Shakira is my ultimate Spader. Not only is she a natural beautiful women but she is a well balanced individual who despite her worldwide fame, takes the time to care for others and builds the schools that educate the children which are our future.

MISS TEEN CALIFORNIA LATINA

Meet Bianca Mettler Lopez, who is the current Miss Teen California Latina. Bianca is a professional ballet dancer and has danced in over 40 musical & theater productions. She is trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, & hip-hop having received 1st Place Platinum & Gold awards in dance competitions. She is also n actress + model! Not bad for a teen. We are excited to announce that Bianca will be featuring at the Spader launch @ Twisted in LA on Saturday July 17 from 3pm. Let's get to know her a little more before you have the chance to meet her in person!

What did you dream of being when you were a kid?
I dreamt of becoming a doctor when I was a kid as I loved to watch ER. Little did I know I wanted to become an actor playing a doctor on TV.

What are you doing now in your life?
I’m an actress, singer, guitarist, and professional dancer trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, and hip-hop. I am signed with an agency and currently have a national commercial as the “lead teen girl” in Invisalign Teen.

What has been the best advice given to you to about surviving the entertainment industry?
Work hard and never give up on your dreams.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
My mother is my inspiration. She has spent countless hours making my dreams come true; from designing costumes to her love and words of encouragement. My mother has always believed in me and told me consistently, “Believe in yourself, you can do whatever you set out to do.”

Describe your style to us?
Very eclectic! From country girl, to rocker chic, I do love to mix up my style. Fashion is ever changing, I not only love to follow trends, I love to set them as well!

Describe your clothing outfit when you go out?
Depends on my mood and occasion. If I’m going to an event, heels and a dress is key. If I’m hanging out with my friends, going around the town, Spader clothing is where it’s at ;)

What item of clothing would you like to see brought back?
I would love to see any clothing that resembles the 1950’s “greaser” look make a come back. The cool cats, James Dean, the look of that 50’s girl on the back of a motorcycle.. I love it!

Who is a person that has been an inspiration to you?
Walt Disney was a brilliant visionary, a bridge to the past and future and an inspiration to me. He truly made all of his dreams come true, by making people happy and making incredible contributions to society. I have a sincere and deep admiration for his acts of kindness towards others. One day, I hope to walk in Walt Disney’s footsteps; be a screenplay writer, actor, creator, and an inspiration to all. Walt Disney has touched my life as a child and young adult and he shall continue to do so for many years to come.

Who is the ultimate Spader to you?
Audrey Hepburn was definitely the ultimate Spader! With her effortless style and beauty, she set many fashion trends. She made the "little black dress" a staple of the chic female wardrobe. The black Givenchy gown she wears in the opening scene in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” was auctioned for $800,000 in London in 2006 to fund the building of 15 educational centers for children in India. Audrey Hepburn was not only a humanitarian, but the definition of old Hollywood glam and the ultimate Spader!
