Boarders is always a good place to go when looking for inspiration and that's exactly what we found when picking up the book from UK artist Banksy. Street art and a good sense of humor is always going to be a recipe for success and Banksy sure has it spot on. To view more of there work click on the web link below:

"We artists are indestructible, even in a prison cell or a concentration camp I would be almighty in my own world of art. Even if I had to paint my pictures with my wet tongue on the dusty floor of my cell"

Maria Nicholas was recently announced as the new t.v host for the US show "Desert Dining and Nightlife". It was only right that we took some time out with Maria to talk fashion, Spading and surviving the industry.

What did you dream of being when you were a kid?
A professional tennis player (although I never played), a veterinarian, and teacher--I was an ambitious child.

What are you doing now in your life?
Living each day! Putting my creative energy into many different avenues--I'm a tv host in LA/Palm Springs, and while I work for other people, it's important to always create your own opportunities--so I've got a few of my own projects in the stay tuned. I also sing. Oh yes and I bartend....I make a mean martini.....

What has been the best advice given to you to about surviving in the entertainment industry?
Wow so much! Be ready when the summons comes. Stay true to thyself, play the game, don't take anything personally, and never take yourself too seriously. The various one-liners I've mastered when "dealing with hecklers". And of course the two P's: Patience and Persistence.

Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
Geez--lots of places--from Europeans (I've always dug their style), magazines, random girls on the street, boutique windows on Melrose Ave, my closet--I never get rid of anything so it's fun to be creative and mix random old things with random new things.

Describe your style to us?
Classy, sexy, chic with a sprinkle of Bohemian.

Describe your outfit when you go out?
See above.

What item of clothing would you like to see brought back?
Hhmmm....the loin cloth? I know what I wouldn't want to see brought back....those high-wasted jeans and hammer pants that all of those celebs were recently wearing.

Who is a person that has been an inspiration to you?
My three mentors here in LA--wouldn't be here if it weren't for them. We all need a good teacher. I'm blessed with three. And Diane Lane.

Who is the ultimate Spader to you?
Erykah Badu--she's badass.

VH1’s Hip Hop Honors had there sixth annual show in Brooklyn on September 23 & rather than paying homage to some of hip hop’s greatest acts, as has been done in years past, the show recognized the long and influential history of one of music’s most important labels, Def Jam.

The night kicked off with Eminem and Black Thought channeling LL Cool J’s “Rock the Bells.” Next, two of the greatest groups of all time were honored, as Public Enemy performed “Rebel Without a Pause” with help from a few friends, and Wale, KRS-One, and Travis McCoy rocked to Beastie Boys hit “No Sleep till Brooklyn.”

The night was filled with Def Jam hits and reunions, from Ja Rule and Ashanti collaborating on “Down 4 U” and “Always on Time,” to Onyx’s “Slam,” and Method Man and Mary J. Blige starting “You’re All I Need,”. Rick Ross performed his hit “Hustlin’,” while DMX did the same with “Party Up,” and Warren G and Trey Songz teamed up for a memorable rendition of “Regulate.”

Ludacris and Scarface came out together and got the crowd hype to “Guess Who’s Back” and “Southern Hospitality,” respectively, DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Roots brought the evening home with a Def Jam medley. The night came to a close with versions of “I’ll Be,” “Back Like That,” and “Touch the Sky,” performed by Kid Rock, EPMD, Fabolous, Foxy Brown, Ghostface, Chrisette Michelle and Wale.

The time is 5:29 am...... I've been awake since about 2:30 am......

A failed attempt to go to sleep early and get rest for the studio in the morning is motivation to finally write this blog and check in with all the Spaders out there. The life of Young Murph has been slightly different over the last few months. I just got done shooting my 1st official video ever for my lead single "Nightime" with director Justin Tipping of Red Apple Productions a couple of weeks ago and I'm currently working on my 1st official album "Nightime Sunshine" with my producing partner in crime Nic Nac, to be released around December 2009!!

It's probably pretty obvious that this is one of the most exciting times of my life, and as I sadly approach the 1 year anniversary of my father's unexpected passing, I can't help but to feel positive about where my life is heading at the moment. If there is one thing that I learned from my father leaving this earth is that our time here is limited and if one has a desire to leave something incredible behind, he/she has to put the work in. This might mean changing management several times, trying out different producers/writting teams, doing shows that might not have as many people in the crowd as one wishes, not really doing any shows at all, having more than a handful of industry ups, downs, and disappointments before finally putting all of your money into a project that will literally "make or break you".....

This is the reality of the situation, and a harsh/scary one at that.

Why am I still smiling? I'm pretty sure it's because I feel like I know something that no one else does haha. The video is going to be breath taking and I've been making some of the most incredible music of my whole career!! It's been hard laying low and playing the sidelines for so long, but I'm super excited for what is about to come. I couldn't ask for a better position to be in and I'm greatly appreciative of all the love that my family, friends, fans, and especially the Spader team have been showing me and without the support of all of the believers I wouldn't have the mental or emotional strength to do this.

My on going promise to continue to intrigue, inspire, invigorate, and keep people in love with dreams. Hope to one day see or hear from you all..... every single Spader out there!

Amanda Diva is an outgoing and vibrant young lady falling under the Spader umbrella as a trendsetter + positive role model which is why we have become big fans of her. Hailing from New York, Amanda made a name for herself through the spoken word scene being chosen to appear on Russell Simmon’s Def Poetry Jam (’02 & ’05). She is now doing it all: she's a T.V host, singer/rapper, painter and all round Spader. The future is definetly bright for Amanda (as you can see in her video below) and we can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

What did you dream of being when you were a kid?
The first black female president of the U.S. (My 3RD grade teacher put on my report card that I was over ambitious and needed to have more realistic goals.)

What are you doing now in your life?
Yikes. A lot! Painting, music, and working as a tv/web personality. I produce a humor based news show called DivaSpeakTV.

What has been the best advice given to you to about surviving in the entertainment industry?
Stick to your guns.

Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
Man, I just like to have fun. So I just love wearing bright colors. I'm also An 80's baby who came of age in the 90's. So I'm very nostalgic about fashion trends of that era.

Describe your style to us?
Funky, vibrant, b-girl chic

Describe your outfit when you go out?
Lol, people have said I have a uniform. Kicks (usually Chucks or Nikes), spandex pants or bright colored jeans, and a v-neck or tank. Comfortable, fly, and funky

What item of clothing would you like to see brought back?
Overalls with one strap down!

Who is a person that has been an inspiration to you?
My mom

Who is the ultimate Spader to you?
Jay-Z. There was a point, at the height of his musical fame when I swear if he told cats to wear a tu tu they would've!

We really enjoyed this video from Amanda Diva, check it out!

Since we started Spader Clothing our friends have shown 110% support in the brand and this continues to grow as one of our mates recently framed the SLAM Magazine that we featured in. It was a big moment for us being our first international feature in a magazine so we can't wait to hang this bad boy up. Shout out to Seiji for the support!!

If you haven't got your Spader wallpapers or Spader theme songs you can download everything here at the link below. New summer gear coming soon!!

Beyonce is currently touring Australia with her "I AM" tour and we were fortunate to catch her sold out concert in Sydney on Friday night. First of all, WOW!!! Beyonce was absolutely INCREDIBLE and put on one of the best shows a Spader has ever witnessed. She will no doubt go down as one of the all time greatest entertainers as she dazzled us with her beauty, singing, dancing and charisma on stage. Jay-Z is a lucky man!

Anna Wintour, the legendary editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine for twenty years, is the most powerful and polarizing figure in fashion. Hidden behind her trademark bob and sunglasses, she has never allowed anyone to scrutinize the inner workings of her magazine. Until now. The Spader team finally got a chance to see this documentary (The September Issue) last weekend and it's a MUST SEE for all you fashion freaks. It's really interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes of such a influential magazine and who really makes the decisions. Here is the trailer.

The weather was perfect over the weekend in Canberra so we decided to get amongst the crowds and head down to Floriade to get a few pics showing off the new range. It was great to be back on home soil shooting away at the sharp and crispy skies that Canberra has to offer. We can't wait to show you the rest of the summer range, catalogue and more info coming soon!

Michael Jordan is defiantly an ultimate Spader, he is someone we really admired growing up as an athlete and as a male role model. It was great to see MJ give his speech as he finally entered the NBA "Hall Of Fame" while shedding a few tears!

Since 1995, DJ Erick La Peau has been taking the spinning world by storm. Known for his distinct talent and electrifying sets, he is regarded as one of New York's top club DJ's capable of spinning everything from Hip Hop to Reggae and House to 80’s Pop. You can catch Erick La Peau DJing tonight at the Pre-VMA Party at M2 Ultralounge in New York City, with host Kid Cudi!

We have finally returned from our Spader tour of North & South America and landed back in the bush capital - Canberra. One thing you forget about Canberra is the wild life and the good old Cockatoos. Photographs of these cockatoo's were taken this morning outside of the Spader office while munching on some much needed Vegemite and toast.

Spader fans will be familiar with New Zealand rapper David Dallas who features on the "Spader Wear" Australasian remix. He has just dropped a new single + video called "Big Time" and it's one of our favourite tracks right now. Not too mention the video is refreshing and artistic which is the only way NZ producers approach music videos. Enjoy and keep supporting the local scene!

Spader Nation,

My heart is broken, but my swagger is not. In the midst of this rock and roll lifestyle, a love is lost....but the show must go on. I would give you all the gruesome details but I'm selling them to Oprah's blog later this week....gotta stick to the biz for my Spaders

It's been quite a time since we last spoke. The record is finished, our first tour is in the works, And we have much business to attend to before we leave for the road. It's all a grind, day in day out but of course it's worth it. I know people are out there looking for their passion, we're living off it....pinch me.

Just spent a week with some the Spader team in NYC....the whole thing about Spading?'s not a game, these boys know how to party. We were stirring it up all over the big apple, making contacts and promoting the line and the bamd. The whole team gets stronger everyday, shout out to Young Murph, The Cataracs, Eugene Wiggydee, and the rest of the crew. The real way you make it in this business is being connected to like minded, driven people. That's what this movement is all about, people sharing their talents and growing together. We've been climbing since sunset blvd (the east side) now we gotta get back. Much much more to come....

One love
